Keith Hutton

Keith was born in the North West of England, close to the Scottish border. He developed the acting ‘bug’ at age 12 when he successfully auditioned for the role of ‘The Artful Dodger’ in a school production of ‘Oliver’. Since then, he has appeared in approximately 150 stage productions in both England & Australia.

Keith was a Policeman for 19 years in England, 12 of them as a detective. He resigned in order to migrate to Australia with his wife and daughters.

On arrival in Australia, Keith joined the prestigious Melbourne Welsh Male Voice Choir and was a regular chorister and soloist with them for 10 years, during which he performed at all major Australian venues, as well as successful tours of America and South Africa. The Choir shared the stage with artists of the calibre of The Seekers, Peabo Bryson, Shirley Bassey and Celine Dion.

He also became heavily involved in the Melbourne theatre scene and has appeared in numerous productions, resulting in three ‘Best Actor’ awards for his roles in ‘Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me’, ‘Corpse’ and ‘Terra Nova’.

He has also appeared in a number of films, TV shows and commercials. In 2006 he was lucky enough to be invited to tour Tasmania, Western Australia, Northern Territory and Victoria with Charles ‘Bud’ Tingwell as the on-stage interviewer for the highly successful ‘An Audience With Bud Tingwell’.

In early 2008 he is due to appear in ‘The Queen of Bingo’ with Evelyn Krape and Kelly Nash, followed by a possible national tour.

He has performed with many Theatre Companies including, Malvern, Brighton, Peridot and Williamstown. When not acting, Keith is a private investigator, but in a purely overt capacity, investigating dubious insurance claims!
