Adam was always singing and acting and doing accents as a kid. His passion for performing probably grew from the countless radio shows he made in his room, singing all the songs from his latest edition of Hit Songwords magazine. After constantly getting into trouble at school for mimicking his teachers, Adams parents decided to enrol him into acting classes, to get it out of his system- but all it did was start a passion that has been with him ever since, like a drug. Born in Sydney, and raised in Adelaide, Adam moved to Melbourne in 2000. He graduated from the Flinders University Drama Centre in 1998. Whilst at Drama School, Adam performed in a vast array of productions, and his experience doing development work for a new play by designer Mary Moore, The Masterkey, led to him being offered his first professional gig, performing in the Adelaide and Perth Festivals of 1998. From here Adam went on to work with the State Theatre of SA, performing with Chantal Contouri in a play called Courtyard of Miracles. In 1999, Adam won the Adele Koh Scholarship, offered by State Theatre to young emerging artists. |
With this scholarship Adam travelled to Italy and studied with Antonio Fava, Maestro of Commedia dell’Arte. Upon his return, Adam realised that a move to Melbourne was on the cards, as the taste of Europe and the arts was so vibrant there.Since his arrival in Melbourne Adam has performed for the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Short n Sweet, Brunswick Womens Theatre, ABC TV. He has co written, co produced and performed Commedia plays for schools. Adam has also done commercial work for Sorbent and Nandos. Adam has a unique cultural background –Australian,Italian,Greek, Egyptian, and as a result can play many types, and has a mastery of several accents. Most recently Adam played El Fayoumy, one of the leads in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, by Stephen Adly Guirgis, directed by David Myles for Human Sacrifice Theatre.
