Representing:

Ami-Louise Sharpe

Ami-Lou is from Derby in the UK, and has just emigrated to Australia. Her recent roles in the UK have included Juliet in the Derby Shakespeare Company’s Romeo and Juliet and Portia in the company’s production of Julius Caesar. This year Ami has also been heavily involved in The Derby Rep Club, and has enjoyed the pressure of showcasing new and old works in front of subscription audiences with little rehearsal.

Ami-Lou trained as an actress at Bretton Hall College, the drama school at The University of Leeds. Since completing her studies she has had regular professional work including over 70 performances with the Figment Theatre Company, a placement with Australia’s Arena Theatre Company (on their UK tour) and appearances in television series’ such as A Touch of Frost and Peak Practice

Her passion for acting has led Ami to continue to hone her craft with further studies at LAMDA (London), Selavy (France) and The Film Space in St Kilda, where she studied acting for film and television on a short visit to Australia in 2004.

Whilst in town Ami also found time to perform in The Melbourne Fringe Festival (she played Kim in Hello Tiger’s Dreamweavers) and also Rogue Elephant Theatre’s Midsummer Nights Dream as Helena.

Ami began acting at age 12 by enrolling at The Tina Jay Dance and Drama School and has never looked back. She is an energetic, physical performer with an ear for accents and great comic timing. Outside of the acting world Ami enjoys travelling, illustrating and going to the gym and dancing (Street Jazz and Contemporary).

She hopes that her new life in Australia will bring many exciting and dramatic roles for theatre, television and film.
