Angeline Thompson

With her Eurasian background (Chinese and English to be exact), Angeline is often a mystery to those who first meet her and is mistakenly thought to originate from places such as South America, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Wales, Ireland, the Middle East or India! 

One thing that is not a mystery, however, is Angeline’s undoubted passion for the performing arts – in particular acting and singing. 

Her love of the performing arts was evident at a young age and she recalls announcing that when she grew up, if she couldn’t be a fairy then she wanted to be a star ….  

Possessing a shy personality, Angeline found that she could express her feelings safely through the various art forms such as music, dance and later, drama. Early dance and drama classes, choir, singing lessons and the occasional school musical provided Angeline with the perfect environment through which her true sunny personality could shine.

Following completion of her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Melbourne, Angeline initially concentrated on an office career climbing the corporate ladder to middle management level, however in 2001 she finally listened to her heart and realised her true life calling … acting!

Taking a leap of faith, Angeline auditioned for, and landed the lead role, in her first musical and she has never looked back!  More roles quickly followed as did awards in recognition of her art.

Equally at home on stage in both musicals and straight theatre, or in front of the camera on the small or big screen, Angeline is a passionate performer who especially loves dramatic and romantic roles.  Her favourite stage roles include Eliza in both My Fair Lady and Pygmalion, Maria in Sound of Music, Anita in West Side Story and Jo in Little Women. 

In addition to the performing arts, Angeline works as a manager in the corporate/medical services area of a local hospital and, in her spare time, also volunteers her services for Vision Australia and Radio 3RPH.
