Belinda Bortone

Belinda has been working actively as an actor in the industry for a number of years. She began her performance career as a dancer, then moved into singing; performing in a variety of musicals and variety shows. Theatre and cabaret followed and most recently Belinda has found herself working predominately in film, television and voice-overs.

Belinda’s training has consisted of working regularly with an acting and singing coach, completing a Performance Scholarship and St.Martins, training at various screen-acting workshops in Melbourne and most recently at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.

Belinda’s film credits include the independent features: ‘The Pawn’, ‘Centre Place’, ‘Love-Match’ and ‘Purge’. She has also performed in a number of shorts, most notably, ‘Jesus of Sunshine’ and ‘The Ballad of Felix the Bus Driver’. Her television credits include Neighbours, an SBS pilot and various commercials.

On the theatre circuit, Belinda has performed in: Empathy Exit (La Mama), ‘The Wild Blue’, ‘Penny Machinations’ (Melbourne Fringe), Proof (AADA) and Bring the Funny (Youth Literature) to name a few.

Combining her flair for story-telling, comedy and song, Belinda has devised one-woman cabaret shows. ‘Quarter-Life Crisis’ with Mark Jones was performed at Capers, and ‘Miss Understood’ with by Vicky Jacobs had a successful season at The Butterfly Club.

Whilst fuelling her other passions, of travelling, film, drawing, writing and food, Belinda hopes to continue developing her skills and working as an actor in this exciting industry.
