Camille Hayton

Camille Hayton has been busy recently- she appeared on the ultimate countdown show 20 to 1, acted as somewhat of a ‘love guru’ on Channel 7’s Sunrise and had a small role on Neighbours!  Just quietly she also recently fulfilled her baking fantasy to be a contestant on Ready, Steady Cook and can be seen steaming up the kitchen with celebrity chef Shane Delia (On the theme of baking… Camille is also featured in a cookbook that was released at Christmas).  Follow her adventures at Http://camillehayton.blogspot.com!

She returned at the end of 2008 to her hometown of Melbourne after a two-year stint in America. Camille spent her first year at the University of California completing her Melbourne University Bachelor of Creative Arts degree, before moving to the Big Apple in 2007 to pursue acting and enjoy the adventure of life in the city that never sleeps! Camille worked on the Stella Adler technique at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting, and completed a four-week summer acting intensive at Terry Schreiber Studio, the highlight of which was getting to work closely with Peter Miner; who directed the Daytime One Life To live for twenty years.

Camille also trained with private acting coach Richard Scanlon, who taught with Stella Adler herself, and whose other students include Steve Schirripa, Melanie Griffith and Jonathan Bennett.

Her most memorable acting moments in New York were appearing on the Daytime As the World Turns, and on movies such as The Sex & The City Movie (a fashion dream come true!), Confessions of a Shopaholic and Assassination of a High School President

In 2007 Camille was riding the subway from Manhattan to Brooklyn, after her apartment burnt down on Halloween, when Brooklyn web designer Patrick Moberg spotted her and fell in love at first sight. He was too scared to approach her at the time but later illustrated a drawing of Camille and posted it on the Internet site he created especially to find her. The media picked up on the story and it became worldwide news, with the pair not only appearing on various television segments such as ABC’s Good Morning America with Dianne Sawyer, and Channel 7’s Sunrise but also in numerous magazine and newspaper articles the world over.

Last year Camille filmed a commercial for St Vincent De Paul, “Happy Feet”, where she got to combine one of her other loves: op-shopping!  She has a quirky sense of style that hasn’t gone unnoticed; she was interviewed by Cosmopolitan magazine during Sydney’s 2009 Rosemount Fashion Week, was profiled/interviewed in both the August 2008 issue of BUST and ZINC magazines for her unique sense of style and is often stopped in the street by fashion bloggers to be featured on their site!

Camille is passionate about acting and enjoys being able to work and be inspired by actors here in Australia. She continues to build her skills with ongoing training workshops at TAFTA and is studying jazz and tap at The Dance Factory. Her other passions include; appearing on cooking shows, designing kids t-shirts, photography, anything crafty (painting/drawing/sewing etc) le bop dancing, blogging and she is always looking for an excuse to dress up in costume!
