Fiona Macys

Fiona has recently returned to Australia after living and working in New York City for the past 4 years.Fiona’s love of the stage began at the age of five when she performed Callisthenics at her local seaside town. From there she went on to compete nationally, representing Victoria and winning three national titles. After much travelling, a science degree and producing shows for Club Med, Fiona decided to move to New York City to study acting.

Fiona was selected from a large list of international applicants to study at America’s oldest drama school - the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. AADA’s alumni include such renowned actors as Kirk Douglas, Jason Robards, Grace Kelly and Robert Redford. Fiona was honoured to receive the ‘Charles Jehlenger’ outstanding actress award upon the completion of the two year intensive program.

Invited to join their selective Theatre Company, Fiona played such roles as ‘The Madwoman of Chaillot’ (The Madwoman of Chaillot), Bette (The Marriage of Bette and Boo), Terry (Extremities) and Pauline (One for the Road).

Fiona’s dedication and passion for acting at the American Academy led to her being invited to participate in open house workshops, teaching alongside some of New York’s greatest dramatic teachers.

Other New York theatre roles include: Housewife/Mrs. Bouef (Rhinoceros); Rima (Dolly West’s kitchen); Akulina (Philistines); Headmistress (Children In Uniform); April (Hot’l Baltimore). She has also recently completed a three-part short, produced and filmed in Manhattan.

Fiona is a very active person who loves all sports, and has been known to exercise in any climate from snow to sweltering heat! Grateful for the education and experience she received, Fiona is happy to be home and looking forward to working in Australia.
