Jillian Claire

Jillian's dream to be an actor was born when she was five, her Mum called it a phase, and let it lie. By the age of twelve, her mother finally gave in to her persistence and enrolled her in a NIDA Summer course. This only fuelled the fire and since then, Jillian has been constantly been involved in both acting courses and performances.

Whilst living in Canberra, Jillian had voice coaching with Kristina Kleeburg at “National Communicators”, a part in “Under Milkwood” and completed a drama course “Approach to text and staging”.

By the time Jill was fifteen, once she had explored in all the relevant pathways in Canberra, then moved to Melbourne to continue to pursue her passion. While studying drama, theatre, dance and music, throughout high school, she was also involved in training courses at St Martins. Skills she developed included professional audition techniques, monologue and character approach. In 2000, she was awarded a one year scholarship at St Martins, in which Jillian was chosen, out of hundreds of applicants. This scholarship allowed Jillian to train intensively for the 12 months with four amazing instructors, teaching her voice, text, movement and performance.

The same year Jillian was involved in a musical that she performed in Melbourne, Kings Lynn, London, Washington and Los Angeles.

Jillian aspires to work in the Film and television industry and has had short stints on Stingers, Neighbours and High Flyers, as well as recently playing the supporting role of Kate in Blue Heelers. Films Jill has been involved in include “Demon Babes”, “Queen of the Damned” and “Bitter Sweet Salvation”.

She is currently being trained at TAFTA under the instruction of John Orcsik and others. Recent courses completed have been "T.V Serial", "Emotions", "Choices and Alternatives", "Speaking American", Screentest Courses and Tom McSweenys Master Class.

Jill is an active member of the actors Co-Op and will forever continue to pursue her passion to be a fulltime, working actor.
