Lauren Ridley

Lauren has been passionate about the art of theatre and acting for as long as she can recall. At the age of 6 she attended Dianna Greentree’s acting school and from there her passion began. During her high school years, Lauren was always a keen participant in both performance and production management. A high school highlight was the role of production manager for the year 12 final production that received rave reviews.

She went on to complete her VCE and headed straight to community theatre to learn and discover all aspects of production and performance. This brought a renewed excitement for self expression and a confirmation of her desire to perform. It was in 2005 Lauren completed her diploma of community and small theatre companies at Victoria University.

Lauren then went on to the ‘Brave Studios’ beginners acting course to continue to on her adventure into the craft of acting. This included working to camera, character development and acting skills under the tuition of Kim Krejus. She completed the course in 2009.

Lauren’s extra work includes ‘Blue Healers’ and Jimoen’s Australian film ‘The Extra.’

Lauren spends part of her spare time watching films analysing character motivation, and physical techniques used to portray emotion.

She also has an interest in health and wellness having studied spa management and therapies. Lauren believes that her understanding of the body and its movements has improved her understanding of acting.

Born in Melbourne Australia, she can also speak some French having studied the language at high school level for seven years.

Lauren hopes to continue studying and refining her acting skills in the never ending learning experience that is being an actor.
